You Can Help!
Save Our Pets in South Orange County !
We are not asking for a sanctuary but for a truly humane shelter where we never euthanize pets for space, but we don't let animals continue to suffer when they have been properly evaluated by veterinarians and cannot be helped medically. We also would not allow a dangerous animal that is a clear liability to the cities and the public to be adopted. We would use proven and creative methods to find adoptive families who are appropriate for the animals in our shelter as quickly as possible.
Fill in the form below and select a reason or reasons why you think we need a pro-humane animal shelter in our area. Then click Create Letter. You can print out your letter and mail it to the city council in your city to let them know you are serious.

Why we need a new pro-humane animal shelter in our area:
1. My pets are potentially exposed to diseases of 39,000 animals per year if impounded at the County shelter.
2. I want an Animal Shelter we can be proud of that offers hope not fear.
3. When a stray animal is found, I don't want it sent to the County shelter due to the euthanasia practices there.
4. The cities that surround us already have shelters that do not kill animals for space.
5. Daily trips to the County shelter when a pet is missing are too far away over congested traffic systems
6. I want a shelter that screens for adoptions rather than sells animals on 1st holds.
7. The poor quality of services from the County shelter include long response times, no response and objectionable euthanasia practices.
8. The County shelter was built in the 1940's to service 200,000 people, but now attempts to service more than two million people.
9. I had a negative experience with the County Shelter.
